"In “Stone Cold” Swindells gives us the story about how sixteen-year-old Link makes himself homeless on the streets of London in the early 1990s.
It starts at Link’s home in Bradford, where he gives us a picture of how his life was before he went to London. His father ran away when Link was 14 years old, now Link is living with his sister, his mother and his mother’s new boyfriend, Vince. Link doesn’t really like Vince, especially not because he has changed Link’s mother and sexual assaulted his eighteen-year-old sister, Carole. Because of the assault Carole leaves home and moves to her boyfriend’s place."
