En recension (book review) på engelska av "The Diary of Anne Frank" (svensk titel: "Anne Franks Dagbok"). Eleven redogör för bokens handling och huvudpersonernas öden, samt presenterar egna reflektioner kring sin läsupplevelse.

Anne Frank was a Jewish girl born on 12th June, 1929 in Frankfurt-am-Main, Germany. Her mothers name was Edith Frank-Holländer, her fathers name was Otto Frank and her older sisters name was Margot Frank.

When Adolf Hitler came to power in 1933, Otto and Edith Frank decided to move to the Netherlands bringing their two children with them. They moved to escape the growing hostility against Jews. In 1940 Germany invaded the Netherlands. On her 13th birthday 1942 Anne was given a diary. The first thing she wrote in it was :
"I hope that you will be a great support and comfort to me."

In June, just one month after Anne had her birthday, her sister Margot received a call-up card, which meant she had to turn up for a transfer to a work camp. Otto and Edith would never even think of sending their daughter away, and they knew that it would not be long until the same card would come to them, so they went into hiding in rooms above and behind Otto's business building on the Prinsengracht...
