Quentin “Q” Jacobsen has been in love with his admirably audacious neighbor Margo Roth Speigelman for all his life. So when she all of a sudden, decides to be a part of his life he accompanies her on her revenge crusades one night of their senior year in high school. Trilled with the thought that the love of his life might be a part of his future, Quentin searches for Margo the next day but she is mysteriously gone only leaving clues of her disappearance behind, specifically addressed to Quentin. Urged to find her, Quentin follows the clues she left him and learns that she is not the person who he thought she was.
Quintin is the narrator of the story and is described as a careful, thoughtful and smart teenage male that likes to spend time with his band friends, Ben and Radar.
