The Old Man and the Sea is a novel which was written by Ernest Hemingway and was published in the United Kingdom in 1952. The novel was the winner of Nobel Prize for literature and the directors John Sturges, Henry King and Fred Zinnemann made a film that based on the same story.

The novel describes an old man who is a professional fisherman who was unlucky with fishing so he could not hook a fish during a period of eighty-four days. But he was insisting all the time for hooking a fish but it went vain. After a while when he was trying to hook a fish someday, he could hook a fish but the problem was that the fish was very big and heavy so he spent several days in the sea trying and struggling with the big fish but finally he could hook the fish by his endures and patient.
