Simon

Simon is an important secondary character in Lord of the Flies by William Golding. He is a bit younger than Jack and Ralph. He is probably an epileptic; he frequently faints and has a fit after he watches Jack kill a pig (p. 159). 

Simon represents goodness and kindness. He helps Ralph to make the shelters while the other boys play (p. 50), and he gives Piggy his own piece of meat when it looks like Jack won’t give him any (p. 78). He is also shy and solitary; while he wants to help Ralph, he also likes to be alone and finds it hard to speak up at meetings.
