About Kazuo Ishiguro
Kazuo Ishiguro, the author of Never Let Me Go was born on the 8th of November 1954 in Nagasaki, Japan. Ishiguro left for Britain in 1960 together with his parents and older sister when his father, an oceanographer, was invited by the British government to work at the National Institute of Oceanography. Ishiguro developed an interest in music and toyed for a few years with the idea of becoming a musician before realizing he was not suited for the lifestyle. After finishing school, Ishiguro spent three months traveling in the USA and Canada and wrote his first two short stories based on his experiences there.
